About
My name is Ella Rybakowska
I am a mum of two, a children’s book author, and a marketing professional with over 10 years of experience in the creative industry. Born and raised in the small town of Rawicz, Poland, I have lived in the UK for over 20 years, where I balance family life with my passion for storytelling and design.
Becoming a children’s author was a long-held dream, inspired by my bilingual children. As my daughter grew older and became resistant to learning Polish, I nearly gave up trying to teach it at home. Realising I needed a more encouraging approach, I created the How Do You Say That in Polish? series — fun, engaging books that blend English and Polish to help children connect with their language and cultural roots. Once the first book was made, I knew I had to share it with other parents who, like me, had felt a little defeated on their language journey.
